Contemporary elegance, timeless heritage

Style & design

The Palazzo Ottaviani project bears the signature of Luigi Fragola Architects, a renowned Italian studio celebrated for its ability to blend innovation with deep respect for historical context. The design journey draws inspiration from the clean lines and precise geometries of 1940s Rationalism, interwoven with the refined elegance of Art Deco. This seamless dialogue between past and present defines a contemporary aesthetic that harmonizes effortlessly with Florence’s historic fabric.
Steering away from conventional neoclassical styles, this approach introduces a fresh perspective, celebrating an era of extraordinary creativity—the foundation of 20th-century Italian design.
Inside, the spaces achieve a perfect balance of elegance and functionality, featuring high-quality materials and a palette of neutral, sophisticated tones, enriched by deep blue and gold accents. The result is a timelessly captivating atmosphere, appealing to an international audience of travelers, art lovers, and connoisseurs of understated yet functional luxury.

The Heritage

More than just a new icon of elegance in Florence’s hospitality scene, this project embodies a legacy, the realization of a dream—the dream of the Marchese di San Giuliano.
A refined aesthete and patron of the arts, the Marchese spent nearly 40 years bringing to life one of Europe’s most extensive model railway systems, now housed at the HZERO Museum, located on the ground floor of Palazzo Ottaviani. This extraordinary exhibit tells the story of movement, discovery, and adventure, values that now take on a new dimension within this hospitality concept.
Today, his son Diego and his daughters, Giulia and Maria di San Giuliano, carries forward this vision, transforming Palazzo Ottaviani into a place where travel becomes an experience, and visitors become part of something greater.
