Francesco Anselmi, born in Milan in 1984, is a documentary photographer focused on border regions and the changes taking place along the edges of the Western world. His work has been featured in major international publications—including *Le Monde*, *The Wall Street Journal*, and *Die Zeit*—and has been recognized with awards and exhibitions worldwide.
In 2024, he published his first monograph, *Borderlands*, with German publisher Kehrer Verlag, exploring the U.S.–Mexico border. Alongside his documentary projects, he also captures Italian excellence in winemaking, agriculture, and design.
Drawing from his experience in both reportage and commercial projects, Francesco will present selected works and discuss the common thread connecting these different worlds—a thoughtful gaze dedicated to capturing the complexity and unique character of places and their people.
Terroir is the unrepeatable union of land, climate, and culture that bestows a unique identity upon everything born from it. In a location that has always cherished the values of sowing and cultivating, Terroir comes to life: the new chapter of Piazza di Portrait Milano, dedicated to letting the finest expressions of living flourish.
On the occasion of La Vendemmia by Montenapoleone District, the Piazza transforms to welcome a spectacular vineyard in the heart of the city. An unprecedented green oasis open to the public, setting the stage for a rich program of talks, tastings, and events focused on culture, conviviality, and discovery.
