Portraits of an Italian Summer

The event dedicated to the Italian Summer returns to Portrait Milano with Arcipelago Botanico, a site-specific installation by Agostino Iacurci. The artist, who trained at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, intertwines painting, sculpture, and cultural references to bring surreal visions to life. In the grand courtyard of the former Archbishop's Seminary, impossible trees and heraldic flowers coexist in a perfect balance of nature and artifice. The sixteenth-century Piazza is thus transformed into an evocative open-air gallery, where monumental sculptures in vibrant colors dialogue with the rigor of the architecture: an invitation to escape reality and immerse oneself in a fairytale setting, celebrating the enchantment of summer in an experience of pure, shared beauty.

Just like in the heart of the most beautiful Italian squares, the Piazza at Portrait Milano welcomes the Mediterranean ritual of granita. A perfect summer appointment to indulge in a refreshing break under the shade of the sixteenth-century portico. Ideal at any time of the day, the granita can be enjoyed in its sweetest, most traditional version with artisanal whipped cream, or in a more refined variation with Champagne.

For summer evenings, music is an essential element. Rumore offers a rich lineup of live music and DJ sets, culminating in the magic of Postcard from Capri: a special, romantic evening with a vintage charm, inspired by the Caprese atmosphere between the 1930s and 1970s. Not to be missed is the evocative piano concert, perfectly timed to accompany the sunset with its notes.
